Editorial Policy

The Voz Sergipana Editorial Policy outlines the principles that guide our news and informational coverage. Our commitment is to provide original, responsible, transparent content supported by identifiable sources, while highlighting Sergipe, its municipalities, and the people who shape its history.

Our Commitment to Information

Voz Sergipana is an independent digital news and information portal dedicated to covering matters of public interest in Sergipe, Brazil.

Our editorial mission is to help residents and visitors better understand events, discover regional initiatives, and access useful information about the state.

We believe that credibility must be built through accuracy, transparency, accountability, and respect for readers.

This Editorial Policy sets out the principles that guide our content selection, research, production, review, updating, and publication.

1. Editorial Scope and Coverage

Voz Sergipana focuses on the state of Sergipe, paying particular attention to Aracaju, Greater Aracaju, and municipalities throughout the state.

Our editorial coverage includes six main areas:

  • News: Local events, politics, public safety, administrative decisions, and everyday developments.

  • Public Services: Transportation, traffic, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and useful public information.

  • Sports: Sergipe football, competitions, clubs, athletes, and other sporting disciplines.

  • Culture: Theater, music, cinema, cultural traditions, artists, and regional events.

  • Tourism: Destinations, beaches, gastronomy, historical heritage, sightseeing, and leisure activities.

  • Economy: Commerce, entrepreneurship, businesses, investment, and regional economic development.

Content selection considers relevance, public interest, timeliness, and usefulness.

We do not follow a fixed daily publication quota. Publication frequency depends on identifying relevant subjects and completing the necessary research, production, and review processes.

2. Story Selection and Sources

Story ideas may come from news outlets, institutional channels, public agencies, sports organizations, cultural institutions, official announcements, documents, and other information sources.

Our editorial workflow includes an information-monitoring system designed to identify events, trends, and topics of potential public or regional interest.

Identifying a possible story does not automatically authorize its publication.

Whenever necessary, we seek primary sources, official documents, and additional information to understand the context of events.

Information obtained from third parties serves as a starting point for research and should not automatically be treated as independent confirmation.

3. Research, Production, and Review

Voz Sergipana uses a structured editorial workflow consisting of three stages:

Story Identification

Monitoring information sources and selecting subjects with potential public or regional relevance.

Research and Writing

Gathering information, consulting available sources, providing context, and preparing the content.

Editorial and Multilingual Review

Reviewing consistency, clarity, references, factual coherence, and the suitability of Portuguese, English, and Spanish versions.

Technology, including artificial intelligence tools, may support different activities within this process.

However, these tools do not replace the need for fact-checking or eliminate editorial responsibility for published content.

Information must undergo the established review process before publication. Issues requiring additional verification should be resolved before publication or clearly qualified where appropriate.

4. Originality and Respect for Sources

Our objective is to produce original, contextualized, and relevant content.

Information from other media organizations, institutions, and sources may be used for research, provided copyright and applicable usage conditions are respected.

We do not adopt the unauthorized full reproduction of third-party reporting as an editorial practice.

Where appropriate, we seek to identify reference sources and direct readers to the relevant documents or original publications.

Images, photographs, videos, and other materials must be used in accordance with their permissions, licenses, and applicable rights.

5. Accuracy, Context, and Transparency

We aim to distinguish verified information, attributed statements, analysis, estimates, and facts that remain under investigation.

Headlines and summaries should accurately reflect the content, avoiding sensationalism, exaggeration, and misleading claims.

Dates, figures, names, locations, and other relevant details should receive careful attention during production and review.

For information that may change, such as public transportation, service schedules, and events, we seek to provide appropriate time references.

Unverified information must not be presented as established fact.

6. Corrections and Updates

We recognize that information can change and that mistakes may occur.

When a significant error is identified, our editorial approach is to investigate the issue and make the necessary correction.

Substantial updates may be identified within the article, particularly when they affect the reader's understanding of the events.

Information that cannot be adequately confirmed may be corrected, supplemented, labeled, or removed as appropriate.

Readers can report potential errors through our contact channel:

contato@vozsergipana.online

Please include the article link and describe the information requiring review.

7. Editorial Independence and Advertising

Voz Sergipana is an independent digital initiative and does not officially represent government agencies or public institutions.

The portal may use advertising, affiliate programs, commercial partnerships, and service promotion to support its operations.

These commercial activities must not determine factual accuracy, editorial conclusions, or the treatment of public-interest issues.

Sponsored content and advertising should be clearly identified so that readers can distinguish them from independent editorial publications.

Relevant commercial relationships that may affect the interpretation of content should be disclosed transparently.

8. Respect for Individuals and Social Responsibility

Our editorial principles include respect for human dignity, privacy, and individual rights.

When covering crime, public safety, and investigations, we seek to avoid treating allegations as convictions and to respect the presumption of innocence.

Additional care is required when reporting on children, teenagers, victims, and individuals in vulnerable situations.

We also avoid gratuitous graphic imagery, unnecessary disclosure of personal information, and discriminatory coverage.

Public interest must be considered alongside the potential consequences of publishing sensitive information.

9. Multilingual Content

Voz Sergipana provides content in Portuguese, English, and Spanish to make information about Sergipe more accessible.

Translated versions should preserve the meaning, factual information, and context of the original publication.

Regional expressions, local institutions, and geographical references may receive additional explanations to help international readers understand the content.

Language adaptations may differ in wording without intentionally changing the meaning of the facts.

Significant inconsistencies between language versions should be reviewed and corrected.

10. Reader Participation

Reader participation helps identify events, suggest relevant topics, and improve information quality.

Story suggestions, announcements, documents, and reports may be submitted to the portal for consideration.

Receiving information does not guarantee publication.

Editorial decisions consider relevance, verifiability, and consistency with our editorial scope.

We aim to welcome community contributions while preserving editorial independence.

11. Project Responsibility

Voz Sergipana is an independent editorial initiative conceived and developed by José Jeferson Dantas de Meneses Júnior.

The project combines technology, information organization, and regional content production to increase Sergipe's visibility and improve access to information.

The use of technological tools in content production does not remove responsibility for the material published on the portal.

12. Updates to This Policy

This Editorial Policy may be revised to reflect operational changes, reader needs, and improvements to our content production and publication processes.

Relevant changes should be reflected on this page, maintaining our commitment to transparency and editorial responsibility.
