The Festival de Artes de São Cristóvão (FASC) will hold its 41st edition on November 20–22, 2026, in São Cristóvão, in Brazil's Sergipe state. Organizers have announced 119 cultural acts and free admission. Of those, 90 come from Sergipe, including 28 from São Cristóvão itself. The city government and the Sergipe state government unveiled the lineup on October 15.

Under the theme «Tradição que move o presente» (Tradition That Moves the Present), the festival will spread across squares, streets and cultural venues in the historic center and other parts of the city. Gloria Groove, BK, Simone, Péricles and Duda Beat are among the music headliners, but the program also features visual artists, writers, filmmakers, traditional cultural groups and theater companies.

The table covers the four music stages listed in the official lineup. Names follow the order in the announcement, which should not be mistaken for performance times. Friday's main-stage program also begins with an opening ceremony before the concerts.

Literature: author appearances and discussions

At the Manoel Ferreira Literature Hall, conversations will address creativity, identity, ancestry and the social role of writing. Highlights have been announced for each day:

  • Friday (Nov. 20): Jeferson Tenório and Ana Marcia Barbosa discuss Black literature; Bárbara Carine and Carol Trindade address Black women and the future; Bianca, behind @leiacombianca, joins a session on the creative economy.
  • Saturday (Nov. 21): Itamar Vieira Junior meets Andrey Cesar Louzada to discuss ancestry, memory and territory; Aline Bei joins Blenda Santos and Jaime Neto. Octávio Santiago and Daynara Cortês discuss the Northeast's creative potential.
  • Sunday (Nov. 22): Eduardo Teles and Clara Louise explore the transition from oral storytelling to digital media; Mariana Salomão Carrara and Euller Lopes discuss literature as a force for change.

Film, visual arts and street processions

Cine Trianon is scheduled to screen films throughout the three days. Friday's selection includes «Beira-Mar», «Zé de Paizinho» and «Amora»; Saturday features «Ton Toy: Um Mestre dos Sons de Sergipe», «Mestrinhos» and «Mambembe»; Sunday includes «Anna Mariani - Anotações Fotográficas», «Cabaça» and «Niara». These are examples, not an exhaustive film schedule.

From November 20 to 22, the Vesta Viana Art Hall will host a group exhibition by 18 artists, including Laize Rosendo. The Mestre Neca processions will also take place on streets in the historic center and at Praça da Matriz:

  • Friday (Nov. 20): Banda CAPS, Milone & Cia and Maria Tambô join the street program; capoeira groups will also appear at Praça da Matriz.
  • Saturday (Nov. 21): Chegança da AMI, Bloco Afro Neopolitano and Caceteiras de Mestre Rindu are on the bill, alongside capoeira.
  • Sunday (Nov. 22): Leões do Frevo, Adupé Bloco Afro do Quilombo Maloca and Guerreiros da Vitória Mocidade take part in the processions; Samba de Coco da Ilha is listed at Praça da Matriz.

Why do the 90 acts from Sergipe matter?

The figure shows where the festival is placing its emphasis. Of the 119 announced acts, 90 are from Sergipe state, and 28 within that group are from the host city. The 28 should therefore not be added to the 90 as a separate category. Nor do the 119 entries represent concerts alone: the count spans multiple art forms.

The Sergipe Symphony Orchestra, The Baggios, Sergival, theater collectives, visual artists and local filmmakers all help bring the state's creative work into different parts of the program. November 20 is Brazil's Black Consciousness Day, and the agenda includes the Concerto Consciência Negra featuring the orchestra and guest Maestro Bira, alongside traditional cultural performances.

The city and state governments announced a combined investment of R$9 million, with R$6 million from the municipality and R$3 million from the state. That amount refers to the announced event investment, not an admission charge.

Location, admission and what to check before visiting

Admission is free, and events will take place in the historic center and other venues around São Cristóvão, Sergipe, Brazil. The João Bebe Água stage is at Praça São Francisco, while Samba na Bica is held at Parque Natural José Aloísio Fontes dos Santos. Other locations include the Frei Santa Cecília and Capuchinhos/BNB stages, Cine Trianon, the literature and arts halls, and the streets used by processions.

  • Dates: Friday, November 20; Saturday, November 21; and Sunday, November 22, 2026.
  • Admission: free, according to São Cristóvão's city government.
  • Times: as of October 21, 2026, the reviewed official release listed dates and acts by venue but not a complete timetable for each performance. Individual show times should not be assumed.

Organizers warn that the program may change. Visitors should check the latest schedule from the organizers, particularly as the festival approaches, before choosing which venues to visit.
