Students registered for the 2026 Enem national examination in Sergipe who need to obtain or update their identity card will be able to visit offices of the state's Forensic Police Identification Institute from October 26 through November 4, 2026, without a prior appointment. Access to this special service requires proof of Enem registration. According to the Sergipe Public Security Department (SSP-SE), applicants who submit their request by November 4 are expected to be able to collect the document at the same office by Friday, November 6.

Who qualifies for the appointment-free service

The announced exception is for 2026 Enem candidates who need an identity card. It does not automatically change the usual appointment rules for other members of the public. As of October 23, the initiative had been announced but was not scheduled to start until Monday, October 26.

  • Application period: October 26 to November 4, 2026.
  • Proof required for the special initiative: evidence of 2026 Enem registration.
  • Announced network: more than 80 offices across more than 65 municipalities in Sergipe, according to SSP-SE.
  • Collection announced by the authority: by November 6, 2026, at the office where the request was submitted, for people served by November 4.

The announcement does not establish a single extended opening schedule for the whole network or individually confirm each office's operations during the initiative. The collection deadline is a commitment announced by the Institute, not proof that every identity card has already been issued.

What documents to bring when requesting or updating an identity card

Proof of Enem registration is the explicit requirement for access to the special initiative. On its general National Identity Card (CIN) service page, SSP-SE also states that normal issuance requires a regularized taxpayer registration number (CPF) and an original or certified copy of a birth or marriage certificate, with any applicable annotations. The certificate must be legible and free of alterations.

The standard guidance page was updated in 2024, and the Enem announcement does not specify every required document or whether electronic proof of registration will be accepted. Applicants should therefore verify the requirements with their chosen office before travelling. The institution lists +55 (79) 3194-2400 for questions from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; these are telephone inquiry hours and do not necessarily apply to every service office.

Where to apply: municipalities and reference addresses

SSP-SE says the initiative will cover more than 65 municipalities and advises students to use the nearest office. The department maintains an Identification Institute service page and an institutional list of offices. The table below provides examples of addresses found on that older list; it is not an individually verified list of offices open for the Enem initiative from October 26 to November 4.

The reference list consulted does not, on its own, account for the more than 80 offices announced for the initiative. For municipalities not listed here, or where an office's address or status may have changed, applicants need to check the updated operational list with SSP-SE. The information available on October 23 does not establish that an unlisted office is excluded.

Is a new identity card mandatory for taking the Enem?

Not necessarily. Inep says the 2026 Enem tests will take place on November 8 and 15 and accepts several forms of official photo identification, including identity cards, passports and qualifying driver's licenses, subject to the exam rules. It also accepts certain digital photo IDs in official applications, including the digital CIN. The special initiative targets candidates who need a new or updated identity card; it does not require everyone registered for the examination to replace their existing ID.

Proof of Enem registration, which is necessary for applying through the special service, does not replace the official photo ID required at the examination. Candidates should consult Inep's accepted-document rules and should not rely solely on an issuance receipt or a photocopy of an identity card.

Checklist before visiting an office

  • Prepare proof of your registration for the 2026 Enem.
  • Check the CPF and certificate required in the standard CIN guidance, including legibility and consistency of personal information.
  • Verify the intended office's address, eligibility and opening hours; the older list does not establish that it is operating during the special period.
  • If served, ask the office how to follow the request and collect the card, announced for collection by November 6 at that same office.
  • Before exam day, check Inep's official guidance on accepted identity documents.
