The 2026 Sergipe State Championship Série A2 is scheduled to begin on October 28, with 12 clubs split into two groups of six, according to the Sergipe Football Federation (FSF). Under the announced format, both finalists will earn promotion to Série A1 in 2027, while the bottom-placed team in each group will be relegated to Série A3. As of the October 20 check, the FSF statement on the technical meeting did not yet provide the complete fixtures, kickoff times or venues for the opening round.

The decisions were announced after the October 9 technical meeting at the federation headquarters in Aracaju. The championship has three stages: an opening stage, semifinals and a final. The announced starting date should not be mistaken for confirmation of individual match times and venues.

Competition format and promotion

In the opening stage, each team faces opponents from its own group. The top two clubs from each group advance to the semifinals. Group A's winner faces Group B's runner-up, while Group B's winner plays Group A's runner-up. The semifinals take place over two legs.

The semifinal winners secure promotion to Série A1 in 2027 and contest the Série A2 title in a single-match final. The FSF will select the venue for the final. The bottom-placed teams in Groups A and B are relegated to Série A3 in 2027.

Fixtures, regulations and kickoff times: what remains pending

In its October 9 announcement, the FSF said it would publish the full regulations and competition fixtures later. That document therefore cannot be used to present opening fixtures, stadiums or kickoff times as final. Round-by-round details and any changes should be checked against subsequent federation publications.

The FSF also said that it would cover the costs of refereeing and support crews for all matches. The account above summarizes the rules announced at the meeting but does not replace the complete regulations once published.

Information checked on October 20, 2026. The competition had not yet started on that date.
