What will be screened

Children’s Showcase, 4:30 p.m.: six Brazilian shorts are scheduled. Highlights include Esperança, directed by Amora Moreira and Marcelo Pereira, about a girl who dreams of becoming a professional football player; O Leão e o Rato, by Paulo Rodrigues, featuring interpretation in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras); and O Jardim Mágico, by Naira Carneiro and Carlon Hardt. The selection includes techniques such as 2D animation and stop-motion.

Brazilian Showcase, 5:30 p.m.: eight Brazilian shorts are included, among them O Coração da Boiúna, directed by Andrei Miralha; Entre Folhas e Ventos, by Thiago Pitta; Como Nasce um Rio, by Luma Flores; and TV Entreaberta, by Mateus Compart. They explore different techniques and themes, including the environment, affection and discovery.

International Showcase, 7 p.m.: four films are listed. Eating Time, directed by Mari Kivi, is from Estonia; Carmela, by Vicente Mallols, is from Spain; Pintango, by Rodolfo Pastor, is from Argentina; and Loop, by Pablo Polledri, is a joint Argentina-Spain production. The cinema published this lineup for the 2026 event.

Address and free admission

The screenings are scheduled for Cine Walmir Almeida, inside the Centro Cultural Palácio-Museu Luiz Antônio Barreto, Praça General Valadão, 134, Centro, Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil. AVBR Produções is identified as the local event organizer.

All three showcases have been advertised as free. As of October 26, 2026, the event announcement did not state whether visitors must collect a ticket, book in advance or enter on a first-come, first-served basis. It also did not give the number of available seats or a specific capacity rule for these screenings. The cinema lists WhatsApp (79) 98132-1673 for inquiries on its ticketing page. Prices shown on that page apply to regular commercial tickets and do not change the free-admission announcement for the animation event.

Why the 7 p.m. listing needs attention

The consulted listings do not use the same name for the final screening. Cine do Centro’s detailed program calls the 7 p.m. session the International Showcase and names four foreign productions. However, the weekly schedule republished by Infonet and credited to the Aracaju municipal government labels 7 p.m. as the Brazilian Showcase. This guide follows the cinema’s detailed listing, but visitors should verify the program and admission arrangements directly with the venue before travelling.
