Pré-Caju 2026, scheduled for November 13, 14 and 15 at Orla de Atalaia in Aracaju, will involve traffic closures announced by the city's Municipal Transport and Traffic Authority (SMTT). They will affect motorists and people traveling to or from the festival by taxi or ride-hailing service. On Friday (November 13), from 5 p.m., Avenida Santos Dumont will be closed in both directions between the Sesc turnaround and the Lagos da Orla turnaround; on Saturday (November 14) and Sunday (November 15), the announced closure will apply to the Beaches-to-Center direction.

The municipal notice dated October 22 does not provide road reopening times. The 9 a.m. start of the weekend parking restriction is a separate detail and should not be mistaken for the start time of the road closures.

Which detours has SMTT announced?

For drivers traveling along Rodovia Inácio Barbosa toward the city center from the beaches, SMTT plans a diversion onto Rua Deputado Clóvis Rollemberg near Orla de Atalaia. Avenida Melício Machado is another alternative identified by the authority. Avenida José Carlos Silva and Avenida Paulo Barreto de Menezes were also named as options for avoiding the waterfront area. These are announced diversion options, not guarantees of uncongested traffic at every hour.

Where will parking be prohibited?

On Saturday (November 14) and Sunday (November 15), starting at 9 a.m., parking will be prohibited along the stretch between the Cinelândia parking area and the Farol turnaround. SMTT advises motorists to use nearby streets and follow traffic signs to avoid having their vehicles removed. Its notice does not state how many parking spaces will be available, parking charges or when this restriction will end.

Taxi and ride-hailing locations

  • Taxis: Avenida Conselheiro João Moreira Filho, between Rua Pastor Martin Luther King and Rua Dr. Fernando Sampaio.
  • Taxis: Avenida Rotary.
  • Ride-hailing vehicles: Avenida Desembargador João Bosco de Andrade Lima, next to Terminal Atalaia.

The addresses above are the designated locations announced for the festival. Taxi and ride-hailing passengers can plan their pickup and drop-off around these points and follow instructions from traffic officers operating in the area.

Planning your arrival and departure

Before setting out, check which day you plan to attend, avoid the closed section of Avenida Santos Dumont and consult the alternative routes announced by SMTT. The October 22 notices do not specify bus-route changes, complete reopening times or a final operational map covering every access road.

Status as of October 23, 2026: the plan is ANNOUNCED and may be adjusted before or during the event. Check for new SMTT and Aracaju City Hall notices between November 12 and 15. Infonet's October 22 article relays information from City Hall and should not be treated as independent operational confirmation.
