The Qualifica Sergipe programme announced 140 free places on Christmas cooking courses in Aracaju, with registration starting on 20 October 2026. Seven class groups are being organised by Sergipe's State Secretariat for Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship (Seteem) in partnership with Senac, Brazil's commercial training service. Applicants can register through the GO Sergipe platform or in person at Casa do Trabalhador. Registration continues until classes fill up, so the 140 places originally announced should not be taken as the number still available.

What courses are offered, and where will classes take place?

The announcement covers three types of training focused on food prepared for the holiday season:

  • Christmas breads and panettones: training centred on these festive baked goods.
  • Christmas dishes: preparation of food associated with end-of-year celebrations.
  • Fine sweets for parties: confectionery products intended for celebrations.

Each course lasts 20 hours. Classes are scheduled to take place at Senac on Avenida Ivo do Prado in Aracaju, in afternoon and evening sessions. The notice gives an overall figure of seven class groups and 140 places, but does not specify the allocation of places by course, exact class times or starting dates.

Who is eligible?

The published requirements are to be at least 18 years old and to have completed the fifth year of Brazilian elementary education (Ensino Fundamental). Training is free. The announcement consulted does not provide a course-specific list of documents needed for enrolment; applicants should check the documentation requirements with Seteem before visiting.

How do you register?

Two registration channels have been announced:

  1. Online: visit the GO Sergipe platform, look for Qualifica Sergipe training opportunities and follow the instructions provided for the course group of your choice. Availability needs to be checked through the service itself.
  2. In person: visit Seteem's Solidarity Economy directorate at Casa do Trabalhador, Maria Feliciana building, Travessa Baltazar Góis, No. 86, central Aracaju, accessed from Rua Itabaianinha. Registration assistance is offered Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., local time.

The address above is for in-person registration. Teaching is due to take place at a different address, the Senac unit on Avenida Ivo do Prado.

Which class groups still have places?

As of the check conducted on 21 October 2026, the remaining number of places in each group could not be verified. The announcement only states the initial total of 140 and that registration ends when groups are full. During the check, the GO Sergipe portal did not provide an accessible, independently verifiable public breakdown of remaining places by course. The safest option is to consult the platform or Seteem's in-person service before travelling.

According to the organisers, the courses aim to improve professional skills and create potential opportunities to earn money from Christmas food products, including made-to-order items. This is not a promise of employment or income. A specific training allowance has also not been confirmed for these seven Christmas cooking groups. An official report on the 20 October jobs event mentions an allowance in connection with participants in other training areas; it would be misleading to assume that it automatically applies to the courses described here.
