Applications for the 2027 medical residency programs at Fundação de Beneficência Hospital de Cirurgia (FBHC), in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil, have been extended through November 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., via Selecting. There are 39 places across ten medical specialties, an application fee of R$450 and a written exam scheduled for November 22 in Aracaju. The deadline and place count were checked on October 28, 2026, against the organizer's official page and the notice amendments.
Why do some pages show 38 or 39 places and different deadlines?
They reflect different versions of the same selection process. The original notice offered 38 places. Amendment No. 02, dated September 30, raised Orthopedics and Traumatology from two places to three, bringing the total to 39. Amendment No. 03, dated October 21, extended applications from October 25 to November 4 and revised document submission and review dates.
The examination date had also changed earlier: Amendment No. 01, dated September 18, moved it from November 29 to November 22. Pages still reporting 38 places, an October 25 deadline or a November 29 examination use information from before those changes. The amendments do not refer to different selections.
Places by specialty and entry requirements
The updated allocation comprises 29 direct-entry places and ten requiring a previous residency. Direct entry means that no prior medical residency specialty is required; medical graduation and the other admission requirements still apply.
| Specialty | Places | Entry route or prerequisite |
|---|---|---|
| Internal Medicine | 10 | Direct entry |
| Cardiology | 6 | Prerequisite: residency in Internal Medicine |
| General Surgery | 5 | Direct entry |
| Intensive Care Medicine | 4 | Direct entry |
| Psychiatry | 4 | Direct entry |
| Vascular Surgery | 3 | Prerequisite: residency in General Surgery |
| Orthopedics and Traumatology | 3 | Direct entry |
| Neurosurgery | 2 | Direct entry |
| Cardiovascular Surgery | 1 | Direct entry |
| Urology | 1 | Prerequisite: residency in General Surgery |
Cardiology requires a previous residency in Internal Medicine. Vascular Surgery and Urology require a residency in General Surgery. Supporting documentation must be uploaded through the Candidate Area in accordance with the notice.
How to apply and pay the fee
- Go to the official Selecting page for FBHC Medical Residency 001/2027 and choose 'Realizar inscrição' (Apply).
- Enter your CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID), complete the registration, select your single intended specialty, confirm your information and generate the R$450 payment slip.
- Complete the application by November 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., and observe the revised timetable's November 4 deadline for fee payment.
- By November 4, submit any required documents for residency prerequisites, bonus eligibility or special examination accommodations through the Candidate Area.
- After payment, check the Candidate Area to confirm the application; the notice instructs applicants to verify the payment record within 48 hours.
The notice allows only one application per candidate and does not permit a specialty change after confirmation. Documents subject to review must follow the authentication or digital-signature requirements in the notice. Amendment No. 03 clarifies that applicants with disabilities who need special exam accommodations must request them via the Candidate Area and attach supporting evidence; requests are reviewed and may be appealed.
Exam in Aracaju and selection stages
The written exam is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2026, in Aracaju. Under the original notice as revised by Amendment No. 01, gates open at 1 p.m., close at 1:45 p.m., and the four-hour exam begins at 2 p.m. The call notice and test venues are scheduled for publication on November 16. All times in the notice follow Brasília time, which matches local Sergipe time on these dates.
There are two stages: an eliminatory and ranking written examination worth up to 90 points, and a ranking-only CV assessment worth up to ten points. The written examination contains 100 questions for direct entry and 80 for prerequisite specialties. To pass the first stage, candidates need at least 50% correct answers among valid questions and 45 points. ENAMED and ENARE scores are not used.

The key stages for applicants and examination candidates are listed below, following the timetable revised by Amendment No. 03 and subsequent milestones retained in the notice:

An inconsistency in the original notice
The original notice refers to a projected completion date of February 28, 2027, for Cardiology prerequisite documents, but February 28, 2026, in its section on Vascular Surgery and Urology. Amendments Nos. 01 to 03 reviewed here did not explicitly resolve that difference. Applicants still completing their prerequisite residency should consult Selecting directly rather than assume which year applies.
The organizer's page showed applications as open when checked on October 28, 2026. Before making a payment or submitting documents, check that page for any subsequent amendment, suspension or notice from the organizer.
