The City of Aracaju has scheduled an exclusively online auction for November 12, 2026, starting at 9:30 a.m., with 22 lots of used municipal property, including furniture, equipment and four cars. Prospective bidders must register in advance on the RJ Leilões website and may inspect the items in person from November 9 to 11 in the Cirurgia neighborhood. The notice sets an auctioneer's fee of 5% on the winning bid, but contains conflicting payment deadlines and bank details that must be clarified before any money is transferred.

Dates, address and auction format

  • Auction: November 12, 2026, with the first lot scheduled to start closing at 9:30 a.m., Aracaju local time (UTC-3).
  • Format: exclusively online, on the RJ Leilões page for City of Aracaju auction No. 003/2026.
  • Inspection: November 9, 10 and 11, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Inspection location for all 22 lots: warehouse at Rua Estância, No. 2,218, Cirurgia neighborhood, Aracaju.
  • Registration: up to 48 hours before the session begins, according to the notice. The corresponding cutoff is November 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
  • No inspections or release of lots will take place on auction day.

What the 22 lots include

Lots 1 through 18 contain groups of school desks and chairs, office furniture, computer equipment, household appliances, fans and air conditioners, cabinets, filing units and shelving. This does not mean that each lot contains a single item: some groups include dozens or hundreds of pieces, and the buyer is responsible for removing the entire lot.

Lots 19 through 22 are four cars: a 2013/2014 Ford Fiesta, a 2016/2017 Citroën Aircross, a 2013/2013 Fiat Palio Weekend Attractive 1.4 and a 2015/2015 Fiat Palio Fire. These are used vehicles, not offers of inspected or refurbished cars. The auctioneer's listing for lot 19 says that the engine is missing parts; lot 22 is described as having an oil leak. These examples show why the starting bid is not the final cost of getting a vehicle into use.

How to register and place a bid

  1. Open the specific RJ Leilões page for municipal auction No. 003/2026, review the lots and read the complete notice and any updates.
  2. Create an account and request authorization to bid before the 48-hour deadline. The notice requires a login, password and submission of documents through the procedure specified by the platform.
  3. For individuals, the notice calls for identity document, CPF Brazilian taxpayer number and proof of address issued within the last three months in their own name. For companies, it lists a CNPJ registration, an up-to-date articles of association or sole-proprietor declaration, and the representative's documents.
  4. Check participation restrictions and the minimum bid for each lot. Bid only after considering the fee, possible repairs, paperwork, transport and collection.
  5. Follow each lot's closing. The platform lists 30-second intervals and a 30-second extension when a new bid arrives during the final time window.

The notice sets restrictions, including for non-emancipated people under 18, persons subject to certain public procurement sanctions and the municipal staff members identified in the document. Incomplete registration may also prevent approval. Account acceptance is not a substitute for reading the rules.

What inspections allow

Visits are restricted to visual assessment and personal notes. The notice prohibits handling, testing or removing parts. Items are sold in their existing condition, with no commitment by the City to repair them. Buyers should assess apparent quantities and condition, transport space and, for cars, the notes in each lot listing. Photographs on the platform are labeled illustrative only.

Auction fee, deposit and total cost

A 5% auctioneer's fee is added to the winning bid. Section 9.1 of the notice says the initial payment consists of 20% of the bid plus the 5% fee, with the remaining 80% due within two business days after the auction, specifying November 16, 2026 as the deadline. As an example, a winning bid of R$ 10,000.00 would require a R$ 2,000.00 deposit and a R$ 500.00 fee, followed by R$ 8,000.00 of the purchase price: R$ 10,500.00 in total before other expenses.

In addition to that 5%, the budget may need to cover applicable taxes and charges, transport or towing, loading and unloading, repairs and vehicle ownership-transfer costs. The notice assigns these expenses to the buyer but gives no single amount valid for all lots. If the buyer withdraws or fails to pay, it provides for loss of the deposit and fee, as well as other sanctions in specified circumstances.

Conflicting terms to clarify before paying

The PDF itself contains a contradiction: section 9.1 puts the deadline for the remaining 80% at Monday, November 16, 2026, while section 9.1.2 refers to a non-extendable 24-hour deadline for payments. The bank account details in the PDF also differ from those reproduced in the auction page's text. For safety, this article does not reproduce account numbers or claim that either conflicting instruction takes precedence.

Before bidding or sending money, request formal clarification from the auctioneer and the municipal organizers using the contacts displayed on the official listing. Confirm the applicable deadline, recipient and payment instructions through an authenticated channel. Do not rely solely on information received in messages or in a standalone copy of the notice.

December collection and transfer of the cars

The notice lists December 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 14 and 15, 2026 as collection days without penalties, from 8 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., subject to scheduling and authorization after full payment. The buyer must arrange the removal of the entire lot and pay for handling. The text provides for a 2% daily late fee and cancellation in certain circumstances, but also mentions a 30-day limit calculated from auction day, which does not clearly align with all listed December collection dates. Written confirmation of the calculation is needed.

For cars, the notice provides for transfer using an invoice issued by the Municipal Finance Department, without a Vehicle Transfer Document (DUT), and warns that only Sergipe's Detran vehicle authority would recognize that document for the transfer described. Under the notice, the buyer must regularize ownership within 30 days after the invoice is issued. Anyone planning to register a car in another Brazilian state should consult that state's vehicle authority and the auctioneer in advance, because the document places the costs and risks of regularization on the buyer.

What to check before November 12

The 22-lot list and the rules above were consulted on October 22, 2026 on the auctioneer's page and in the PDF linked to the sale. Bids, lot availability, clarifications and amendments may change before the session. This check did not identify a specific amendment resolving the contradictions described; that does not prove that none will be issued. This is municipal auction No. 003/2026, not an auction held by other entities in Sergipe.
