As of the review carried out on October 20, 2026, no public confirmation was found that São Lucas Hospital in Aracaju had resumed urgent and emergency care for Plamed members. The suspension began on October 9, according to the insurer's official notice, which directs members whose plans covered these services at São Lucas to Hospital Primavera while the interruption lasts. This does not mean that the entire São Lucas Hospital has closed or that all types of care have been suspended.

What has been confirmed about the suspension?

In its October 9 notice, Plamed said that São Lucas Hospital itself had decided to temporarily stop providing urgent and emergency care to the insurer's members. The notice gave no reopening date. A report published by Sergipe de Fato on October 10 likewise said no resumption date had been provided and the reason had not been disclosed. On October 20 the announcement was still accessible, but this alone cannot establish the operational status at any given moment. Members should therefore check the network before traveling whenever this can be done without delaying necessary care.

Where can Plamed members obtain urgent and emergency care?

The insurer's announced alternative for members previously using urgent and emergency services at São Lucas is Hospital Primavera, in Aracaju. Service availability should be checked against the member's particular plan and medical needs. There is insufficient confirmation to claim that every procedure, specialty or admission is automatically covered there.

What about pediatric urgent care?

In guidance dated October 13, Plamed said Hospital Santa Isabel provides pediatric urgent care around the clock for members of all its plans. The insurer also listed Hospital Primavera as a 24-hour pediatric care option, subject to the specific plan's coverage. Pimpolho was identified as another option for pediatric urgent consultations from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except public holidays. According to the same guidance, Hospital Renascença is not part of Plamed's pediatric urgent-care network. These details apply specifically to pediatrics and should not automatically be extended to adult emergency care.

What happens to current inpatients and scheduled procedures?

According to Plamed, patients already admitted to São Lucas Hospital continue receiving care there until discharge. Members with elective, surgical or outpatient procedures previously scheduled or authorized at the hospital must contact the insurer to have their authorization revalidated and receive instructions about a possible transfer to another accredited provider. A previous authorization should not be assumed to remain usable without confirmation.

What should members do?

  • Check Plamed's official channels and the provider network applicable to their specific plan.
  • For urgent and emergency care previously directed to São Lucas, verify instructions for seeking care at Hospital Primavera.
  • For children, observe the options and restrictions published by Plamed on October 13.
  • For any scheduled São Lucas consultation or procedure, ask the insurer to revalidate the authorization and designate a provider.
  • In an urgent or emergency situation, do not delay necessary medical assistance for an administrative check.

Information status: checked on October 20, 2026, Sergipe local time (UTC-3). Resumption at São Lucas was not confirmed by the sources consulted. Providers, coverage and schedules can change, and this review does not replace direct confirmation with the insurer.
