In the second round of Brazil’s elections on October 25, 2026, voters in Sergipe will vote for president of Brazil. The state governor’s race ended on October 4 with the reelection of Fábio Mitidieri (PSD). As for polling locations, the Regional Electoral Court of Sergipe (TRE-SE) has announced one specific change in Nossa Senhora do Socorro: polling sections 318 and 371, in the 34th Electoral Zone, will operate at the Employment and Labor Secretariat, Avenida Aracaju, No. 486, in the João Alves housing development.
What Sergipe voters will decide on October 25
The general election runoff will choose Brazil’s president and vice president. There will be no additional vote for state governor in Sergipe: according to the electoral authorities, Fábio Mitidieri won reelection in the first round with 727,291 votes, or 59.27% of valid votes. The presidential runoff candidates are Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).
Which polling sections have moved in Nossa Senhora do Socorro
In a notice published on October 20, TRE-SE stated that only sections 318 and 371, out of seven sections previously located at Escola Municipal Nossa Senhora do Socorro, will change addresses. The court attributed the move to adjustments to the available physical space. Their new polling place is the Employment and Labor Secretariat, Avenida Aracaju, No. 486, João Alves housing development, Nossa Senhora do Socorro.
For all other sections, the court instructs voters to return to the same address as in the first round, while checking their official polling-place information before traveling. This change concerns the physical polling location, not the office being contested.
How to check your polling place and voting hours
Voters should check their updated polling location using the e-Título app or the TSE Electoral Self-Service system, as recommended by TRE-SE. Voting on Sunday, October 25, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brasília time, which is the same as local time in Sergipe (UTC-3).
People who did not vote in the first round may still vote normally in the second, according to TRE-SE. The requirement to explain an absence is handled separately for each round and can be fulfilled through the official channels indicated by electoral authorities.
Beware of outdated notices about Porto da Folha
A special election for mayor and deputy mayor in Porto da Folha had previously been announced for October 25. However, on September 10 TRE-SE stated that it will not take place, following a TSE decision that restored the mayor and deputy mayor to office. The earlier election notice should therefore not be treated as current.
Information checked: October 20, 2026. Because election day is still ahead, voters should check their polling place again through e-Título or TSE before leaving home, especially those assigned to sections 318 and 371.
