Aracaju recycling drop-off centers: addresses by neighborhood and accepted materials

Aracaju's list expanded from nine drop-off centers in June to ten after Porto Dantas opened. Find neighborhood addresses and site-specific waste categories, plus conflicting location and opening-hour information that should be checked.

Official records reviewed through October 25, 2026 identify ten municipal recycling and waste drop-off centers in Aracaju, Brazil, for the voluntary and free delivery of specified materials. The City Council listed nine sites on June 22, but City Hall confirmed that the Porto Dantas center began operating in July. Not every site has the same publicly documented list of accepted materials, so residents should check their waste category before transporting rubble, furniture or electronics.

The count of ten also appears in a later municipal publication. This does not establish the real-time operating status of each site on the day of a visit. The table combines the City Council's June site-by-site waste descriptions with City Hall's specific July 28 information about Porto Dantas.

For the first nine centers, the listed categories summarize the City Council's June 22, 2026 report. Porto Dantas was added based on City Hall's July 28 statement. If a type of waste is absent from a site's row, the source used did not confirm that it is accepted there; this is not a definitive statement that the material is prohibited.

Porto Dantas has conflicting location details: the municipal report names Avenida Euclides Figueiredo, while the Emsurb frequently asked questions page, visible in indexed content, gives Rua Contorno 01, without a building number. The sources do not establish whether these descriptions lead to the same entrance. Check the correct access point with Emsurb before traveling.

Which center should you use for each material?

  • Construction rubble: the City Council lists it at 17 de Março, Coroa do Meio, Inácio Barbosa, Jabotiana and 18 do Forte. City Hall confirms construction waste at Porto Dantas, limited to 1 m³ per user. Do not assume other sites accept it without checking with Emsurb.
  • Furniture, wood and pruning waste: these appear, with site-specific descriptions, for 17 de Março, Coroa do Meio, Ponto Novo, Jabotiana, 18 do Forte, Industrial, Jardim Centenário, Santos Dumont and Porto Dantas. Ask for guidance before transporting amounts that may exceed the drop-off service's capacity.
  • Dry recyclables: the City Council lists paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass at several sites, but does not provide equal detail for every site. Emsurb advises keeping these materials separate, clean and dry.
  • Electronics, batteries and lamps: these are expressly listed at 18 do Forte and Porto Dantas; electronics and appliances are also listed at Industrial, Jardim Centenário and Santos Dumont. Emsurb's general waste-category list alone does not confirm electronics acceptance at every location.
  • Clothing and shoes: the City Council's site-specific list mentions these at Industrial. Do not assume the other centers accept them without verification.

What not to bring and how to prepare materials

Ordinary household trash and organic waste belong in the regular collection service and are not accepted at the drop-off centers. Emsurb also says medical waste is not accepted. Food scraps should not be mixed with recyclables.

To avoid accidents, pack fragile items, lamps, batteries and other cells separately, following the authority's guidance. Emsurb calls for particular care with broken lamps and battery storage. For hazardous waste or larger loads, check the appropriate destination before delivering it.

Opening times and contact: published information conflicts

The indexed text of Emsurb's FAQ gives Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, a July 22, 2026 report about the new Porto Dantas center states 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This research could not confirm a single current schedule for all ten centers directly with Emsurb, and the full FAQ page returned an access error. Neither schedule should therefore be treated as guaranteed.

Before traveling, check with Emsurb on (79) 3021-9908 or (79) 3021-9999, also listed as a WhatsApp number. City Hall announced that the centers would close for the October 12, 2026 public holiday, showing that schedules may change. This report has not verified live response availability on those contact channels.

Drop-off center, PEV and Cata-Treco: what is the difference?

An ecopoint is a municipal drop-off station for specified waste, including bulky objects and small amounts of construction rubble at authorized sites. Emsurb separately describes Pontos de Entrega Voluntária (PEVs, voluntary collection points) as neighborhood collectors for small amounts of recyclables. Do not treat a PEV as an automatic destination for furniture or building debris.

For furniture or bulky objects that cannot be transported to a center, Emsurb offers Cata-Treco, a collection service requested through municipal contact channels, alongside scheduled neighborhood operations. That service has its own arrangements. Collection initiatives at Correios postal branches should likewise not be confused with Aracaju's municipal drop-off network.

This information applies only to Aracaju municipality. Other municipalities in Sergipe may have different agencies, locations and opening hours.
