According to the regular schedule published by Aracaju's Municipal Urban Services Company (Emsurb), the city's open-air street fairs generally take place from Tuesday through Sunday, at times that vary by location. The agency's FAQ also lists a daily entry for the Centro district, which needs separate confirmation. The table below shows each fair, neighborhood, address and opening times, without treating the exceptional changes for the October 25, 2026 election as the usual schedule.

Aracaju street fairs: days, neighborhoods and hours

The times are those stated in municipal information and are in Sergipe local time (UTC-3). A fair's traditional name does not always match the neighborhood in which it operates. This is a reference schedule: holidays or specific official announcements may change it.

* Costa Nova address warning: Emsurb's indexed FAQ points to Rua Eliza Correia de Oliveira, whereas its official 2025 PDF guide names Rua Praia de Aruana. Because the two addresses differ, check the exact location with Emsurb before traveling.

** Centro: the entry on Avenida Coelho e Campos, from 6h to 20h, appears in the indexed FAQ but not in the fair table of the 2025 PDF guide. This additional listing requires confirmation of its classification and present-day routine.

Why can a fair's name differ from its neighborhood?

Emsurb places the fair known as Orlando Dantas in Praça Dário Ferreira Nunes, in São Conrado. The listing for Augusto Franco gives an address in Farolândia. Médici is listed in Luzia; Sol Nascente in Jabotiana; and Jessé Pinto Freire and Castelo Branco in Ponto Novo. Use the street address rather than relying only on a fair's traditional name.

The municipal records also distinguish Dom Pedro on Wednesday afternoons, at Rua Juiz Mário Almeida Lobão, from Dom Pedro I on Sunday mornings, in the central reservation of Avenida São Paulo. Both listings are in the José Conrado de Araújo neighborhood.

The October election schedule was an exception

On October 22, 2026, Emsurb announced that, because of the second round of voting on Sunday, October 25, fairs usually held on Fridays would instead run on Thursdays, Saturday fairs on Fridays and Sunday fairs on Saturdays, without changes to their usual hours. According to the notice, the Santa Maria fair was not scheduled that week at the vendors' request, while the Residencial Costa Nova fair in Aruana would remain on Friday afternoon.

That rearrangement applied only to the election weekend and did not establish a new permanent schedule. For subsequent visits, the usual timetable remains the reference, subject to new Emsurb announcements.

A street fair is not the same as a municipal market

The street fairs listed above operate in streets, squares and open public spaces on specific days and shifts. The central markets Thales Ferraz, Antônio Franco and Maria Virgínia Franco, as well as the neighborhood municipal markets, have their own opening rules. Do not use a street fair's hours to plan a visit to a municipal market.

For election Sunday, October 25, 2026, the city announced that central and neighborhood markets would be closed, with reopening scheduled for Monday, October 26. The exception is Mercado Vereador Milton Santos, in the Augusto Franco residential complex, which remains closed on Mondays for cleaning.

How to check a fair's day, time and address

Emsurb is the relevant municipal authority for the schedule. Its FAQ lists an ombudsman's telephone number, +55 79 3021-9908, and WhatsApp, +55 79 3021-9999. For holidays, events or uncertainty over a location, ask whether a change has been announced before making the trip.

Editorial check dated October 25, 2026: the official PDF guide and the October 22 announcement were examined. The FAQ content appeared in indexed search results, but the page failed to load when accessed directly. Therefore, entries and addresses differing from the PDF in particular should be reconfirmed with the agency.
