The Federal Institute of Sergipe (Instituto Federal de Sergipe, IFS) is offering 1,368 places in technical programs integrated with secondary education for entry in 2027, across ten campuses. Applications are free, opened on October 5, and close on November 3, 2026, online. The Portuguese and Mathematics entrance exam is scheduled for November 29. The process mainly serves students who have completed or are completing Brazil’s ninth grade.
Who can apply and what an integrated program means
In an integrated technical program, students complete secondary education and vocational technical training at the same institution. According to descriptions of Public Notice No. 18/2026/DGI/PROEN in the sources consulted, applicants must have completed elementary education or be finishing the ninth grade and must be no older than 17 on the enrollment date. The age requirement and supporting documents should be checked against the current notice before applying.
This selection is for integrated secondary-level technical programs, not university degrees, the Enem national exam or post-secondary technical programs. All listed offerings are daytime. The campus, program and boarding arrangement, where applicable, matter because each candidate can submit only one application for this selection.
Places by campus, program and shift
The table brings together 41 offerings across ten campuses and adds general-admission places, reserved places and Partiu IF places. Program totals are based on the byline report by Dália de Carvalho at PEBSP and cross-checked against another publication citing the amended public notice. The official IFS release confirms more than 1,300 places across ten campuses but does not publish this breakdown. The full notice and amendments could not be displayed as readable text on the platform consulted; readers should therefore check for changes in the current official document before publication or selecting an offering.

Special conditions for São Cristóvão
At São Cristóvão campus, Agricultural Production, Agroindustry, Aquaculture and Computer Networks are listed separately as semi-residential offerings, without overnight accommodation, and residential offerings, with overnight stays and separate allocations by gender. The published account of residential eligibility mentions the municipality where the student lives and the absence of student transport. Families should verify the eligibility requirements in the public notice, since a residential offering does not mean housing is guaranteed to every applicant.
How to apply free of charge by November 3
- Access the IFS Competition Management System through the link provided in the institutional announcement. If you are not registered, create a candidate account and confirm the activation email. The secondary instructions consulted mention a two-hour limit for activation.
- Sign in using the Brazilian CPF tax identification number and password and locate the 2027 integrated technical-program selection.
- Carefully choose campus, program and shift, as well as residential or semi-residential arrangement where listed. Those choices cannot be changed after applications close.
- Complete the application form and statements about previous school, income, affirmative-action eligibility and any examination accommodations that apply.
- Check all information before submitting and save the application number. The application fee is zero, so there is no payment slip for this selection.
How reserved places and Partiu IF work
The reports detailing the amended notice divide the 1,368 places into four broad allocations. These totals are for the entire selection, not each group within each individual program; exact eligibility is governed by the application form and Table 1 of the notice.
| Category | Places | Eligibility |
|---|---|---|
| General admission (AC) | 483 | Open to applicants generally |
| Disability places within general admission (AC_PcD) | 66 | Specific allocation reported for applicants with disabilities |
| Partiu IF | 137 | Affirmative-action places for eligible 2026 Partiu IF participants |
| Public-school allocation (LB and LI) | 682 | Students who completed all elementary schooling in public schools, with subdivisions |
Within the public-school allocation, LB refers to categories for applicants with gross household income of up to one minimum wage per person, while LI categories do not impose an income threshold. Subcategories cover Black, mixed-race and Indigenous applicants (PPI), quilombola communities (Q), persons with disabilities (PcD), and other public-school graduates (EP). Attending a private school on a scholarship is not equivalent to completing all schooling in a public school. Applicants who choose reserved places compete for general-admission places first and move to their relevant reserve only if not classified in general admission. Self-declarations and documents are subject to the verification stages provided for in the notice.
What the November 29 exam will be like
According to IFS, the exam is scheduled for Sunday, November 29, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon, Sergipe local time (UTC-3). Gates are due to open at 9 a.m. and close at 9:50 a.m. There will be 20 multiple-choice questions, ten in Portuguese Language and ten in Mathematics. The identification card showing the exam location will be available in the candidate system from November 16. The sources consulted do not disclose each candidate’s specific testing address: this must be checked individually on the card.
Descriptions of the notice that were consulted indicate four answers per question, marking the answer sheet with a blue or black ballpoint pen and presenting an original official photo ID. Syllabus topics include reading comprehension and grammar in Portuguese, as well as numerical operations, percentages, equations, geometry and chart interpretation in Mathematics. Candidates should check the relevant syllabus annex and allowed-item rules in the current edition.
Ranking is based on the examination score. Tiebreakers are, in order: higher Portuguese score, higher Mathematics score, older age and lower application number. An exception applies when the number of applicants for a program is equal to or below the places available: IFS says no exam will be required for that offering, provided entry requirements and subsequent stages are satisfied.

What still requires confirmation in the official notice
Editorial verification dated October 21, 2026: the IFS announcement, updated on October 13, was accessed and confirms the deadline, ten campuses and exam format. The official page for Public Notice No. 18/2026/DGI/PROEN was located in the admissions system, but the notice and annexes did not display readable content during this check. Seat totals and more detailed rules were reconstructed using two external articles that say they rely on the October 6 amended version. Those articles do not replace the current public notice. Final verification of places by category, residential criteria, syllabus, enrollment and further amendments requires reading the official document before publication or applying. There is no independent confirmation that rules have remained unchanged since the consulted publications.
